The John Locke Society has organized a session on Locke and Tyranny at the upcoming Eastern Division meeting of the American Philosophical Association. The meeting will be in Baltimore, from Wednesday the 7th to Saturday the 10th of January, 2026. The JLS session is scheduled for 7:00 to 10:00pm on the Wednesday evening. The session will feature three talks.

You might already be aware of the John Locke Bibliography, which used to be published on a Penn State website. The bibliography is no longer there. However, you can find an archived version at the Internet Archive. We hope to be able to provide news of future updates in the coming months. But for now, it seemed worth pointing out that the resource is still available.

The next conference of the John Locke Society will be held at Australian Catholic University's North Sydney Campus on 29 and 30 July 2026. It will be followed by the Japanese Society for British Philosophy Australian Conference, which will be held at the same venue on 31 July and 1 August 2026. The submission period for paper titles & abstracts is 1 September 2025 to 31 May 2026.

I'm pleased to pass on news of some online Locke workshops, which are being organized by Patrick Connolly and José Luis Bermúdez. We are pleased to announce a series of three online workshops devoted to Locke and contemporary philosophy. The workshops pair historians of philosophy with philosophers working on contemporary issues with the aim of both shedding new light on Locke’s thought and discovering whether Lockean resources can be brought to bear on current debates.

Two article have recently been published in Locke Studies: Chiayu Chou, "Another Story Of The Masculine Genesis Of Political Life? Locke On Family, Marriage And The Conjugal Society"; and James Kuhle, "'By Consequence And Implication Only': Accusations And Defenses Of Locke’s Christology From A Paraphrase And Notes On The Epistles Of St. Paul".
