Clash of the Comics (comedians train to be wrestlers) is on Dave next week and it's led to the first ever appearance of the phrase "Lou Thesz press" in the Radio Times.

@crickether.com Just noticed although the ECB don't appear to have listed any County Cup matches past the first round, the Blaze are listing a County Cup match with Durham on 21 June, and Somerset are listing an away match against Yorkshire that day with a blank space for the tournament name!

One of the few ways I still use X is a weekly search for my town and it appears the search has either been intentionally ruined or has spectacularly broken. The "latest" tab on the results now includes incredibly fuzzy matches ("Haneum" for "Hanham") and is not in chronological order.

I've been a Wrestling Observer subscriber for nearly 30 years. I've just had to unfollow them here because I've had it with the barrage of links to "stories" which are literally "person of no practical relevance to the topic says thing on podcast or Twitter". This is not news.

Sounds like Nick's not doing that bad. Despite renting and paying back a student loan, he was already earning enough to put some into savings and is now getting a payrise of more than £3,000.
British politics is now just about making up a guy and assuming he will vote for you

Masterful clickbait. The story is that two BT Sports pundits agreed Slot shouldn't be sacked. It would almost be perfect if it wasn't obvious Slot actually being fired wouldn't be covered with such a clunky wording.

I asked my mum for pink paint for my 6th birthday. My plan was to paint stripes on our white cat, so she'd look just like Bagpuss on TV. Fortunately, my mother worked out my plan. She got me some watercolours and took me for lunch at the Wimpy. A win.

For no reason at all I was just thinking about how a leadership challenge to Starmer would work if he fights it. It's not 24 hours lobbying MPs like the Tory confidence vote system. It's the *sitting Prime Minister* spending potentially *weeks* in a campaign to win over party members. That's insane.

I think at this point if you're including Diane Abbott - a woman who has never held government office, has been a backbencher since 2020, and is scarcely a government ally - on your list of political wrongdoers, we all know exactly what your real concerns are

I've lived through many budgets where you know in advance everything that will be in it, but this definitely feels like the first where you know in advance everything that will not be in it, and everything that was going to be in it but now won't.

When we changed broadband providers and got a new router, I changed its SSID and password to the same as the old (Virgin) router, rather than type the new details in to every device in the house. An engineer from the new provider discovered this and was utterly baffled at the entire concept.

This could scrape Reform a working majority. You'd have asked the country "do you want a government to the right of the current one" and the answer would be "Yes 43%, No 57%" and the electoral system would interpret that as "Let's go as far to the right as possible."

I realise I bang on a lot about my local newspaper, and I did skip a lot of media law lectures, but I'm pretty sure when you report on a court case and report on a guilty plea, you shou;d probably mention somewhere in the article what the charges were.
