Philly stuff. Outdoorsy stuff. Maybe a LOT of xc skiing stuff on winter weekends? I'm as confused as you are.
We received a very sweet Cameo from Jessie Diggins for my kid's 8th birthday in 2021, a birthday that she spent basically alone except for us. She won the World Cup that year - and also the last 2- and is simply one of the most admirable US athletes of my lifetime.

I want to go on record and say that this is the Bryce Harper I want in 2026. Raise a glass at the International Bar. Shit-talk the quality of Philly pizza. Become friends with Kurt Vile. Do it all, Bryce.
Is it because he looks like this? Because I don’t think I can watch that mustache all season.

Shaheen came to power as governor by explicitly pledging not to fix the state's broken, regressive tax structure & school funding system, despite being one of the few people with the political capital to do so and the existence of a lawsuit demanding it.
Shaheen: So let me be clear. No one in the senate chamber wants to extend the ACA tax credits more than I do.

Ooh, I actually, unsuccessfully, warned myself.
Me: The Democrats' obsession with finding a working-class whisperer has led to a bunch of gimmick campaigns which wasted a ton of money and attention on hopeless races. Why do this again?

I'm pretty good at finding my way into the interesting stuff about a city - the weird foods, the music, the little shreds of history, etc. (For instance, I had a great time spending a weekend in Dayton a few years back.)

But, yeah, I found Little Rock pretty unpleasant.
What’s the worst city you’ve visited?

I’ll never go back to Myrtle Beach SC if somebody paid me

Alan Sepinwall basically invented modern TV criticism as it exists today, reviewing individual episodes of The Sopranos like the mini-movies they were. In a better society, he'd have a medal around his neck and a government pension at his disposal.
Some news: yesterday was my last at Rolling Stone. For now, I'm going solo, doing all my TV reviewing, recapping, etc., at my newsletter. I hope you'll consider subscribing. Many more details here:
