In Manchester for the Conservative Party Conference, where former home secretary Suella Braverman has called for parliament to routinely review judge decisions for mistakes.

Says country needs to get back to 'culture of judicial deference'.

Not saying the Conservatives are leaning into the Reform agenda, but this is the title of shadow justice secretary Robert Jenrick's speech at the Tory Party Conference.

It's the England under 21s. If they had experience they wouldn't be there...

The second episode of #adolescence set in school is harrowing and so instructive.

The problem isn't just phones, but children penned in cramped conditions, surrounded by noise and bound by arbitrary rules like shirts tucked in. We treat them like animals and expect to produce rounded adults.

Jonathan Reynolds corrected the record in parliament yesterday over his solicitor claim from 2014.

Gene Hackman will rightly get plaudits for so many films, but for those who like a legal drama, he does a brilliant turn in the underrated Runaway Jury. Him and Hoffman bouncing off each other is a treat.

Have heard lots of horror stories about the state of Cardiff Civil and Family Justice Centre so I've come for myself to take a look...

Finished #blackdoves and would highly recommend. Only slightly tarnished by me asking 'why is London so empty at Christmas?' every five minutes.

The roads outside the RCJ have been closed all lunchtime after a sit down protest by anti-corruption campaigners. Hundreds of people, all remarkably civilised.

This law firm's choice of stock image for 'dispute resolution' on its website is superb.

Ah, not you too Greenock Telegraph.

Once more for those at the back: there is no such thing as a legal aid 'payout'. Law firms being paid for representing people who need representing is not news.

Imagine having all that legal background and still expressing *this* opinion in public.

Lots of talk about remote working this week.

I *could* be sat in an office having done a £42 90-minute commute. Or... I could take my laptop to Jimmy's Farm, finish my work and go see capybaras at lunch. 🤔

Reading Rory Stewart's Politics on the Edge, and his account of the chaos and under-funding of the MoJ is shocking.

Oh my Christ what a finale that was. Arguably Gavin and Stacey was the best final episode I've ever seen.
