Transport. Efficient, reliable, and sustainable transportation is foundational for economic growth, social connectivity, and environmental sustainability. It enables better access to jobs, education, and services, while also supporting tourism and industry—key aspects of Yorkshire’s economy.

The article refers not so much to the plan of financial benefits but how it is administered. The central government has failed to deliver equality. Both Scotland and Wales have their own governments away from Westminster, and are well set up to handle a recovery plan. Certainly not anti Scotland.

I do agree.

Do you mean I have not considered Scotland & Wales? If so, these countries have their own governance unlike the regions in England and are well set up to administer a central government recovery plan.

You may be right, I can only speak for Yorkshire. We have been underfunded for decades and our so-called public transport system is a disaster. I will leave it to others to speak out in support of theirs.

Point taken and agreed.

Okay, The problem stems from centralisation and lack of regional control. I get the nimbyism, sometimes you need to build on appropriate green land but perhaps keep part of the land open space for
People and nature. Don't think you would agree to develope the Stray In Harrogate for instance.

The problem is that there is no real joined up planning. There are opportunities to develope brownfield sites and at the same time try and preserve some green spaces for local people to enjoy as they have in London. We do recognise the need to build, but we want it done with consideration
