Happy Birthday to the show that gave me love and appreciation for animation as a medium (I know that sounds crazy for a show as simple as this one) but that's the great thing about animation, a piece of media that is so straightforward can change someone's viewpoint in the instant

I also dislike the idea of remaking old movies to “update” them. At that point, you aren’t treating films like works of art, you’re treating them like products that need to be periodically fixed or upgraded, like junky old software. To me, it’s an anti-art attitude.

Animation is a caricature of life, not a lesser imitation of it. Remaking cartoons in live-action, or giving the characters realistic proportions, hairs, warts, etc., robs them of the stylized exaggeration that made them appealing in the first place.
