MAGA self-identifying Christians love this because, like opposing gay marriage or not cussing in public, it involves no actual sacrifice from them.

Unlike the Sermon on the Mount, which Mr. Merry Christmas openly defies by saying “I hate my enemies.”

Timeline cleanse: Kids throwing toilet paper after Auburn-Mercer. Such non-conference games draw young families and others who avoid SEC ticket prices, giving Toomers Corner a sweet vibe.

There’s no use crying over spilled milk, but spilled coffee is a disaster.

The NY Times Spelling Bee does not recognize this word, demonstrating their ignorance of SEC sports.

My annual SEC Media Days post. I went for one day, it was boring save for the media members (especially those I met for the first time) and my credential was obviously created by an intern from Bama or UGA.

On my annual 4-week teaching gig at the Catholic University of Lisbon, I finally experienced stadium European football—the UEFA Women’s Champions League final. Special thanks to the two nice Barcelona fans who helped me get from Metro to stadium.

As we remember Ruth Buzzi’s time on “Laugh-In” (and her ensemble stuff was as good as Agnes), don’t forget that her true Meryl Streep moment was as Screech’s mom in “Saved by the Bell.”

If the assistant coach won’t go on the record, the reporter (Tom Pellisero, in this case) shouldn’t use it. An unethical dance that degrades pre-draft coverage.

My bracket after both Duke and Auburn lost.
April 6, 2025 at 12:05 PM
Today in sloppy wording: As presented, it reads like Duke has a 72% chance of winning by 6 points. That would incorrectly imply a much higher likelihood of winning by any margin.

The parentheses should be a separate sentence. “Projected margin: 6 points.”

This was the scene at Toomer’s Corner, as the Buc-ee’s float passes. Most of the Auburn fans abandoned the rolling to celebrate the UK win in search of beads and Moon Pies. #WarEagle and #LaisseLesBonsMomentsRouler.

You would recognize Alice Hirson as the prim matron she played in numerous series as a semi-regular (Ellen, Full House) and a guest star on many more. Passed away this past week. #RIPAliceHirson

My senior year at Auburn (1978)
Texas hired away our swim coach, Eddie Reese. In 1980, he began a streak of 45 conference titles (SWC, Big 12) before retiring in 2024. UT’s streak reached 46 this year under Bob Bowman as Texas won its first SEC title. Amazing dominance.

The main takeaway from this chart is that Portuguese food is rated No. 4 in the world. But I would have guessed that without all these ratings. Thanks to @simongerman600.bsky.social for the post I saw.

Big milestone: Four years ago I was honored with my own Bernie meme. (Remember those?)

The setting was a presentation at the Baseball Hall of Fame years before. Cold Bernie’s presence just warmed my heart.
