I put out a little something for the trick-or-treaters to accompany the candy. (Good way to clear out some of the many doubles accumulated over the years.)

Not even a week before Halloween yet, and Dollar Tree is already set up for Christmas!

Somehow made it out alive despite spending significant time in three "war zones" this year.

Thank goodness the trash cans here are labeled, or I would’ve not known where to toss this Apple core.

Apparently car-free Market Street continues to the 29th Century, per the new Starfleet Academy trailer. Welcome to the War on Cars, #StarTrek!

I've never been a big No Doubt fan, even back in the day. But I do recognize that "Tragic Kingdom," released 30 years ago today, is a quintessential '90s album, and am giving it a twirl today. #NoDoubt

Today and Sunday, shop at the SSF Education Foundation’s Book Fair and Read-a-thon to support its programs, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the SSFLibrary’s 2nd floor Community Room. Several SSFUSD schools have wish lists!

Some good #SamTrans news: ridership is at 99.5% of 2019 levels, despite a small decline in San Mateo County's population. This per a report to the Citizen's Advisory Committee to be given tonight.

Taking some time off for mental and physical health, so took the ferry to Angel Island, where I’ve never been, despite living in or near the Bay Area for 30 years now. It’s a great, inexpensive outdoor getaway with good bike trails.

Taking a mental health day off prior to physical health days. Off to Angel Island on Golden Gate Ferry!

Brief note about Robert Redford's cultural impact. In Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons' classic graphic novel Watchmen, there are numerous hints that a "RR" is set to follow Nixon after his fourth term ends following the 1988 election. Only near the end do we discover it's #RobertRedford, not Ronald Reagan.

Double-tap! Got a couple vaccines this morning. Thanks to Kaiser-NorCal, I can go into the fall and winter with less worry about Covid-19 and the flu. That’s important to me with an upcoming septoplasty with turbinate reduction that will temporarily restrict my breathing.

Comics have long been full of innuendo. 😉 Here @fabiannicieza.bsky.social got away with a “puts the ‘long’ in Long Island” joke in 1991. (New Warriors 18).

I bought Beautifully Unique Sparkleponies (back before I avoided Amazon). It was fun!

Adding my pics to the SF Bay cohort posting their photos from the Red Sky day five years ago. These pics are literally what everything looked liked, with the streetlights on virtually all day. (For the out-of-towners: smoke from a faraway wildfire settled over the Bay and lingered.)

Hard to believe, but today is the 15th anniversary of the San Bruno gas pipeline explosion that killed eight and destroyed 38 homes in our neighbor city. I actually had a Jeopardy tryout in SF that afternoon, and was at my night MPA class when I read reports of a “plane crash.” #SanBrunoFire

Yay! The #HamiltonMovie has a 10-minute intermission after the first act. More films over two hours should do this. Looking at you, Oppenheimer.

The #SFGiants were blown out, but on the plus side, you could squint and pretend the other orange and black team was doing well on a beautiful afternoon for baseball.

Oakland to San Jose? Some people will do anything to avoid driving on 880.
