The statue of Ukrainian poet, writer and national figure Taras Shevchenko in the town of Borodyansk, Kyiv Oblast was hit by shrapnel early on in the full-scale invasion by Russia that started in 2022. The head is now facing down, but just as Ukraine, Taras hasn't given up!

It’s okay, everyone does it! As we are waiting for train number three - yes it’s really busy on the main rail corridor, but at least I have the fuckin’ patience to wait a few minutes – we can see more and more motorcyclists jump in front of the queue by going under the gate.

Some of what Russians left behind when they were kicked out of Borodyanka, Kyiv Oblast in March 2022 is now on display in a museum run by locals. Ask someone at the Borodyanka Palace of Culture to let you in and they'll show you around.

Among the destruction of the early days of the full-scale Russian invasion into Ukraine, the town of Borodyanka (Kyiv Oblast) is rebuilding. It was occupied for some five weeks, leaving destroyed buildings and people murdered by the barbaric hordes.

I did some cultural appropriation while visiting the highest observation deck on the southern hemisphere. UP at Thamrin Nine is the observation deck at some 385 meters above street level on top of the Autograph Tower in Jakarta, Indonesia. Entrance is about 5 euro per person.
