Our colleague Manuel Finol, manager of Amnesty International Venezuela, has been arbitrarily detained by the Military Intelligence Directorate at Caracas airport #Venezuela, as he was about to travel.

At @amnesty, we demand his IMMEDIATE and unconditional release.

Leonardo Romero Negrin was arrested today in Havana while protesting with a blank slate.
Activists have denounced that he is being held in the Dragones station and was beaten by state security forces.
Cuban authorities must respect peaceful protest and immediately release Leo.

Activists and #DDDHH organizations denounce the arbitrary detention of @AmnistiaOnline POC Felix Navarro and his wife, Sonia Alvarez Campillo. Their activism and leadership have earned them decades of jail and repression.
Felix, Sonia, Sayli, all must be released immediately and unconditionally now.

Amnesty International has insisted on the immediate and unconditional release of all those unjustly imprisoned solely for exercising their human rights. Cuban government must end repression and guarantee the rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly.

Currently, according to #DDHH organizations, more than 1000 people remain detained for their participation in protests since 2021, and 5 prisoners of conscience - Luis Manuel Otero, Maykel Castillo, Loreto Hernández, Roberto Pérez Fonseca, and Saylí Navarro - are still deprived of their liberty.

@amnistiaamericas.bsky.social welcomes the release of the prisoners of conscience Jose Daniel Ferrer Garcia, Donaida Perez Paseiro, Luis Robles and Felix Navarro. They were serving unjust sentences only for exercising their human rights.
