As a fan it’s disappointing when a player who has come through the academy wants to leave to join Real Madrid and it’s a shame because he could have become a legend up there with the likes of Gerrard but that deffo won’t be the case now.

He has hardly done an interview and when he has it’s all been on his terms, completing avoiding being honest about his future. And that celebration against West Ham feels like a piss take now.

To be fair to Schmadtke, it was always going to be difficult for him to do a proper job with him being a temp appointment. Sounded like Klopp was more involved with transfers during his time.

I think it has more to do with the mess the club got itself in with Sporting Directors.

I don’t think it was unavoidable, contracts could have been discussed before Klopp announced he was leaving. Plus, if that is correct, contracts would have been agreed before now, with all players speaking highly of Slot and us being top of the league and champs league.

If he goes Liverpool will still be great! It’s 50/50 whether he would be a success at Real.

I still think he may stay and his team are using Real Madrid interest to get the best possible contract out of Liverpool.

Trent or his people are sending mixed messages to get the best deal and protect his reputation. But all this seems to be back firing as fans can see through this.

In my opinion Trent should not be given similar terms to VVD or Mo! He’s great going forward and with assists but far too inconsistent defensively and sometimes even looks like he’s not giving 100%
