Hell yeah! Don't buy stuff from Amazon, Target or Home Depot this (Black Friday) weekend.

I stopped a while ago, but please do what you can manage.
A grassroots movement is calling on all Americans to abstain from shopping at Target, Amazon, and Home Depot during the holiday weekend over their support for Trump's authoritarian policies.

I encourage you to join — and shop small. https://weaintbuyingit.com/

It's finally chilly enough that I can run my big computer all day for essentially free electricity, since that much was going to heat the place anyway. I've gotta finish my training loop to keep everything busy, though.

Unprincipled and weak. The murder of journalists is perhaps the single most direct violation of the right to freedom of speech. (1/2)
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Toyota's on the list.

Also, who's maintaining the list of companies that get Very Stern Warnings about the Dangers of Fascism when this is all over?

Also, how's Volkswagen these days?

I've been hassling Claude to research GPU providers for me. I don't think I need big memory, necessarily, soon, but just FP16 flops in pretty dense GEMMs. Chat, is this legit? I guess it kinda stands to reason that there are all these aimless 3090s looking for work.

Underappreciated point, I think. The actual way that climate change kills home value is that nobody can get insured for a mortgage on houses in your neighborhood so they sit unsold and prices crater.
3. Major economic damage is coming as climate risk wallops home insurance, and cascades into mortgage market failure and property values crash. Buckle up.
