The Beths announced a couple of last-minute shows in New York and LA to celebrate the release of their new album, Straight Line Was a Lie (out now!). The New York show took place this past Monday at Bowery Ballroom and it was excellent. Surprisingly, it was my first ever time seeing them live.

Last week, Case Oats celebrated the release of Last Missouri Exit—their debut album released via Merge Records—with a headlining show at Night Club 101 that I happened to photograph for @weallwantsomeone.bsky.social

A week after the release of her debut solo album, Parody of Pleasure, Lydia Night played a triumphant headlining set at Baby’s All Right. The crowd in attendance was loud, sang along passionately, and even started moshing at Lydia’s request.

A couple of weeks ago, Grace Bowers headlined Baby’s All Right. Her guitar prowess was on full display and her backing band, the Hodge Podge, was certainly more than capable as accompaniment.

To celebrate the vinyl release of their latest album, Tunnel Vision, Beach Bunny played a show at the Rough Trade downstairs space at Rockefeller Center. The band stuck around after the performance to sign copies of the album for everyone who attended.

Hudson Yards hosted a free outdoor concert headlined by mxmtoon, who I last saw in April. Maia and her band delivered a fun set of catchy tunes to an audience filled with devoted fans and curious onlookers who happened to stumble upon the free show.

Earlier this month, I saw Nicole Atkins live for the first time in seven years. Her older material sounded as good as ever and I’m very excited for a new album that she may have not-so subtly hinted at.

At the end of July, I saw Cil at Baby’s All Right for her second ever headlining performance. It was a solid set, but a little brief for a headliner.

Last month, I ventured to the Beacon Theatre to see Yeah Yeah Yeahs a second time during their "Hidden in Pieces" tour. The setlist may have been identical to the show I saw in Nashville, but it didn't matter to me because I love seeing them perform live.

This past Sunday, I saw Blackpink live for the first time at Citi Field. The group's stage production was great and their fans were incredibly passionate. What actually impressed me most was the amount of people that knew their choreography during the "dance cam" segment right before the encore.

Spent a weekend in Nashville a little while back just to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs play the Ryman Auditorium. I loved hearing their material reinterpreted for an acoustic setting with a string quartet.

A couple weeks ago, Susannah Joffe headlined and sold out Baby's All Right. Before taking the stage, she debuted the music video for her single "Die Your Daughter," which she ended up performing twice during the set.

Last month, I photographed U.S. Girls at Bowery Ballroom for @weallwantsomeone.bsky.social. Meg and her band were incredible. Getting to hear most of the new album, Scratch It, was such a treat.

The new Molly Tuttle album comes out in a few weeks and I neglected to post about how last month I got to hear a preview of her new material live with a new backing band at Mercury Lounge.

Last week, I got to photograph Bebe Stockwell's first ever headlining show at Mercury Lounge for @weallwantsomeone.bsky.social. Her voice is remarkable, her songs are poignant, and I'm very much looking forward to hearing more from her in the future.

I went to a show at Baby's last week without any prior knowledge about the artist. I did not expect as many flower crowns as I saw, but Sydney Rose played a lovely headlining set.

Absolutely wild that I showed up at Rough Trade NYC this afternoon not knowing what their vague "Lorde event" would actually be and ended up leaving with my copy of her debut EP, the Love Club, signed by Lorde herself.

Two weeks ago, I photographed the King Princess show at Market Hotel for @weallwantsomeone.bsky.social. It was hot. It was sweaty. It was a damn good show.

On Friday night, Matt Berninger celebrated the release of his solo album, Get Stuck, with a sold out show at Webster Hall. Yesterday afternoon, he performed a brief stripped down set at Rough Trade Below. "Silver Jeep" and "Bonnet of Pins" were my personal faves from both performances.

I was at Baby’s All Right again last night (big surprise, lmao) and saw Ken Pomeroy live for the first time. What a voice and what wonderful songs. I need to pick up a copy of her new album, Cruel Joke, ASAP.

Decided to see Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers on a whim and they were absolutely worth the trip to Baby’s All Right for a second consecutive night. These Aussie rockers put on a hell of a show and I’m already looking forward to the next time they come back to New York.

On a night off from portraying the Emcee in the current Broadway production of Cabaret, Orville Peck donned his signature fringe mask to play an intimate show at Baby’s All Right.

I caught Japanese Breakfast’s first of four headlining shows at Brooklyn Paramount last night. Brilliant performance and some really great lighting design. There was a dicey moment early on where the house lights came up and the fire alarm went off, but thankfully nobody had to evacuate.

Braved the rain yesterday for Sunday (1994)'s headlining show at the Bowery Ballroom. I was impressed at how good they sounded live and now I'm looking forward to seeing them again at All Things Go in September.

I’m glad that I finally got to see Charli xcx live during the brat era. Her stage presence? Unreal. Her fan base’s energy? Intense.

Before Charli's set, some girl in the pit asked security for something to vomit in, then walked through the crowd carrying the puke container looking for a trash can.
