I don’t disagree, friend. Everything you said would at least go some way to mitigating each of those problems, but (imho) it won’t solve them.

Point of order: there’s no such thing as the ‘Irish Potato Famine’. It was an act tantamount to genocide by the British state. During the height of the famine Anglo-Irish farmers were still sending grain and livestock back to England. There was plenty of food, just not for Irish Catholics.

I don’t disagree that would be a good place to start. That’s said, much of what you’ve suggested sounds like more overly simplistic solutions to complex issues.

No. People who believe a fairy tells them it’s OK to discriminate are the problem. It’s literally why organisations like Stonewall a) exist, and b) have to be political.

People are allowed to change their minds. It only becomes a lie if when he promised he wasn’t going to pardon his son, he knew that he would. Intent is the key. No intent to deceive, no lie. Besides, Hunter’s ‘crimes’ are nothing compared to the murderers, crooks, and malcontents Trump pardoned.
