14% is brutal. Still massively overvalued though.

Never believed their excuse about EU regulations (nor Meta’s). They weren’t entirely ready to expand into more locales, and thought it would be useful to use the time and pretext to pressure regulators

When the last fax machine is gone from Germany, only then will it be ready to embrace the future

This is excellent

It would be weird if he hadn’t, no?
Apple and Microsoft have pivoted to Trump as well.

Doesn’t make Apple, Meta or Microsoft bad.

There has been a legit vibe shift.

Elon uses Signal fwiw.
I assume for dual reasons - because of his admiration for Russia and to buy ketamine
February 26, 2025 at 8:26 AM
Huh? Why?
Zuck is the original millennial leader. Along with Taylor. They just kick ass
February 26, 2025 at 8:25 AM
Meanwhile even my children’s school, KLM support and every other single person I know in my life (other than my mother who refuses to use smart phones) uses WhatsApp)

Pretending Signal is even in the same ballpark as WhatsApp is pure cope

I’ve had Signal for 10 years now. It never, ever gets used other than contacting a drug dealer (not often, but it happened) or for Russian building contractors.

Not a single other person has ever contacted me on it. Not one
February 26, 2025 at 7:43 AM
Well, I think we all personally know Russian-Germans, there are just so many of them.

But I didn’t expect 4% of the French to be drug dealers.
February 26, 2025 at 7:02 AM
Signal is only used by Russians and drug dealers.

I hope it’s 7 Russians you know 😀

Yeah, that practice made many engineers hate Amazon

Cool, do both

“divert investments from renewables” that’s not a bad thing as long as carbon emissions decrease and prices decrease.
January 11, 2025 at 11:58 AM
Very good interview.

But I find it depressing how there seems to be very detailed plans as to how to reduce German (and EU broadly) carbon emissions, but there is no plan as to how to reduce electricity prices to rival American prices.

One without the other is insane.

France argued for an EU regulation that the French language is served by browsers in equal proportion to English.

* I joke of course

As a Prague based company, Jetbrains is one of the quiet hero’s of EU tech.

Managing to profitably reskin and resell IntelliJ for almost 25 years now

Jokes aside, the Commission is clearly wrong though.

We keep on accidentally posting surpluses when we’re trying to run a deficit. Either grow too fast or spend too little or both. It’s what we do
November 26, 2024 at 12:01 PM
I would have assumed that we would be very excited for deep spending cuts after years of irresponsible spending by the woke Rutte regime #StemZeWeg

Depends on the data on which it gets trained. But I guess there would be a way to remove biases from the data before training

Could be a powerful productivity booster for the Belastingdienst

But maybe a screener model that offloads to humans might work
