Immigration to the U.S. should be simple, easy, speedy, affordable and humane. Our policies should support our values, our needs. Families should be able to be safe, and together. Workers should be able to work. We should be a beacon. We should educate and welcome the world. We could. We can.

ALERT TO PLACES CONSIDERING DOING 287(G) YOU WILL GO BROKE IF YOU VIOLATE THE LAW.

The pro-deportation folks aren’t the law-followers. It’s the so-called sanctuary places that care about the Constitution and peoples’ rights.

NEW: Dems easily flipped the sheriff's office in Pennsylvania's Bucks County, a big swing county in the Philly suburbs.

So? The incumbent GOP sheriff had contracted with ICE. His Dem challenger promised to end the contract.

Now he wants other swing-state Dems to look at his victory as a lesson:

John is entertaining as always. Anyway FM should be abolished nationwide and everyone serving life sentences or facing death for it should be resentenced.

Quick note about this again; the 100 mile zone has nothing to do with Border Patrol’s ability to operate. They can operate anywhere in the country.

The 100 mile zone is ONLY about where they have heightened stop and search powers.

It’s not a jurisdictional thing.
Why is Border Patrol in Chicago? It's not inside 100 mile limit.

$50 could put someone on a bus home when they’re released. Money donated goes to truly necessary costs. They could buy soap, which isn’t provided free. They could get to talk to family members. $0 goes to an org, 100% goes to detainees.

Please give, or share this. Or both, I’m not picky

Even _this_ administration couldn't justify ending TPS for South Sudan, if that tells you something about conditions there.

(The fact that only a hundred or so have it and it is therefore not as useful to their universal removal directive may also have played a role in missing that deadline.)

Is this a thing states can do? Should be, but is it?
This seems huge, and deserves more attention.

SCOTUS has gone out of its way to make it harder to sue Fed law enforcement for damages when they trample—sometimes literally—on your rights.

Illinois just made it so their resident can sue the Feds in state court.

Feds fail us, states step up.
The Illinois legislature had passed the “Illinois Bivens Act,” allowing people to sue ICE agents in state court. Just waiting for Pritzker’s signature.
