The interview is in the book “Perspectives on Stanley Kubrick", page 223. Long out of print, but a complete copy can be borrowed via the Internet archive online, I was looking at it two or three days ago.

Yep. Zeiss did a run of 10 of the 50mm 0.7 lenses, based on NASA needs. NASA purchased 6 of them and Zeiss kept one in house. According to Lyndon’s cinemaographer in an interview I read, Kubrick found out about the lenses and that 3 still were available, procured them & had them adapted for cine.

1975's Barry Lyndon has a famous and perfectly lovely scene filmed using the in-scene candlelight, it's still rare to see anything approaching that. tl;dr: The eighties have another thing to answer for.

I don't have a tablet anymore, but in hearing about this issue (it's not just you) I heard reference to a recent addition that would add a bit of tint to those buttons? Dunno, that screenshot looks terrible. (And I've been enjoying LG on my phone.)
