I was so proud when I received the email telling me that my short story was selected to appear in the 23rd edition of the Emerald Coast Review. Out of over 175 entries by incredible writers, poets, and artists on the Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast, 70 were selected. Available through Amazon.

So there I was, in Books-a-Million in Gulf Shores when I passed an end cap and saw it - Notable Women of Alabama alongside Hiking Waterfalls Alabama. I didn't realize Hiking Alabama was right below.

A change of venue this morning - the dining room for writing, but the routine is the same - a mug of hot tea, the music of SiriusXM 40s Junction playing softly in the background, and my protagonists meticulously putting the pieces of the mystery together at a radio station in 1943. Duh-duh-duh!

You never know who will be at one of my presentations and book signings. I was once upstaged when Pete the Cat made an appearance. But he was a cool cat about it. It could have been a cat-astrophe, but claw enforcement was not required.
