Day 2 of a 4 day weekend… slept in, made my wife breakfast, had some tea, walked to the Seaport for soup and more tea, and won two dollars on an old lottery ticket I found in my wallet. What a great day!

The 2nd album I bought with my own money at the Churchill Northern Store. What a rocker for 12 year old ears!
#BearSeason2025 is over for me. Not for the bears however, as our corner of the Hudson Bay continues to slowly freeze. A few local guesses range between 2 weeks to next month for a freeze good enough to support them as they head out for seals. Fingers crossed sooner than later.

Polar bear moms are fierce. This mom watched three different males approaching her nap spot, posing a threat to her cub. They retreated with Mom stopping to assess the situation regularly. You can see a pretty serious scar on her face, indicating that she was quick to defend her cubs. #mammals 🌿

For those wondering what they look like on the outside, this is a tundra buggy. It’s about 9 feet to the bottom of the windows, which is the highest a polar bear can reach. This particular one is an electric vehicle.

Obsessing over the physical condition of new, mass-market books to assemble some perfect little shelf is just idolatry and materialism. The important thing about a book is the story itself, and getting it into your brain. Who cares if it gets dog-eared or the spine gets broken in the process?
