The problem is, we all booed Manning when he took attackers off and put defenders on to protect a lead: see Leicester, as one of many examples. I liked the use of an attacker. But it just have been a big risk to choose Jurasek at that moment. And it ended in ignominy.

He got in some good positions last night and is a strong runner: interesting contrast to Jurasek I think. But his final ball last night was - with one exception - poor. He isn’t a winger.

Or Kvistgaarden. It just felt like a brutal public humiliation for Jurasek, and I’m not sure anyone deserves that (especially a 22-year old kid in a foreign country)

Yeah I’ve come around to agreeing with this. That was public humiliation, for a young kid. Surely the error was in putting him on at all?

Really? Who was better qualified? I mean, Manning was well qualified. I just think this whole episode is being coloured by our collective loss of faith in Knapper (which I share) - but on its face this looks like a good appointment to me.

But what’s your point here? Who would you have appointed instead?
