#BOTD: Jean Shrimtpon, along with Twiggy the most iconic supermodel of the 1960's. She got in some trouble in Australia, as recounted below, for wearing a skirt that was FOUR INCHES (gasp!) over her knees.

Gentlemen, I feel it appropriate to inform all of you that I am a stan of the Iron Marshal.

@nopipbutcpip.bsky.social came by just now to bring me some extra bunny stuff and got to meet Daisy as well as renew his acquaintance with Redmond. Daisy, who may be even more boisterous than my first REW Fernando, was on her best behavior for our visitor. #bunnysky #rabbits #bunnies

Maybe this will help if you don't already have it in your files? I just found it on Reddit.

Here's one *I* haven't seen before - it's from Alamy, so watermarked. This was obviously taken at the beginning of her career in the late 1880's when she was still a teenager, judging from the hairstyle and dress; also, VERY unusually for her, she's *not* smiling.

He was the father of well-known Edwardian-era actress Ellaline Terriss (who, until the Falklands War of 1982, was probably the most famous personage to come out of those islands). I've always thought she was one of the prettiest stage stars of the era, with a particularly nice smile.

Of course, nothing can compare to the famous image of Helen Chandler about to get nibbled on by Bela Lugosi. That's sexual surrender if ever I saw that expression:

I'm really not kidding about the "monster game" part. This picture, showing the game maps laid out on a floor, makes it look as big as SPI's and GDW's/GRD's legendary super-size World War II igames, "War in Europe"/"War in the Pacific" and "Europa" respectively.

#BOTD: British film/TV star and author Diana Dors (originally named Diana Mary Fluck, so it's pretty obvious why she availed herself of a stage name!) She dated noted ethologist Desmond Morris when they were teens, and was at one time married to Richard Dawson of "Hogan's Heroes".

Miss Swanson does not approve.

BOTD 10/22/1943, Catherine Deneuve. (Still from "The Last Metro".)

#BOTD: Joan Fontaine (10/22/1917 - 12/15/2013). Shown here in a promo still for 1948's "The Emperor Waltz", a musical set in 1900's Vienna in which she starred opposite Bing Crosby.

She had a widely varied film career aside from her outings with Groucho and the boys; one of her more unusual roles was an uncredited cameo as Duchess Sophie of Hohenberg in the Kay Francis movie "Storm at Daybreak" (released the same year as "Duck Soup", 1933).

#BOTD Anna Neagle (1904-1986), real name Florence Marjorie Wilcox (husband Herbert Wilcox, who produced & directed almost all her films, one of the biggest British movie stars of the 1930's and '40's. She specialized in glamour and historical roles. #vintagefilm #classicfilm #filmsky #classicactress

Westworld, you say? (looks)

Bah! 0/10, no Gunslinger. (My maternal grandmother once saw Yul B. in a revival of "The King & I" and remarked on his incredibly mesmerizing eyes.)

I say "ostensibly" because their main antagonists, Thrush, knew exactly where it was and attempted to attack the installation several times. Which is where this image comes from, having been shot for the pilot episode:

I'm trying to find the photo of him and Illya Kuryakin actually showing their ID, but this is Napoleon Solo's U.N.C.L.E. identification card from the second-season episode "The Nowhere Affair":

WWI might not have happened the way it did had Bismarck not been essentially fired by Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1890.
