xie lian is pretty much frowned on or pitied by the other gods because he had his godhood revoked twice, the overarching plot is that all the quests he goes on are connected to all the gods and he’s basically investigating the corruption and putting things together

okay so right now xie lian has ascended to godhood for a third time (the past two times he was basically banished) and right now he’s basically trying to repay the other gods shrines he accidentally destroyed in his ascension (it was that big and eventful)
