And this is just getting started on a global basis.

2026 will be a fascinating year in the world of energy.
Energy transitions can happen faster than we think:

In 2000 almost 90% of Denmark's electricity was from fossil fuels.

In 2024 less than 10% of Danish electricity was from fossil fuels.

I wrote about Amy Coney Barrett and Samuel Alito's massive conflicts of interest re: the climate deception cases that Big Oil is desperately trying to get the Supreme Court to step in and dismiss. newrepublic.com/article/2036...
The Supreme Court’s Ethics Code Is a Joke. Big Oil Knows That.
Oil companies want the Supreme Court to intervene to dismiss lawsuits about climate change. Amy Coney Barrett and Samuel Alito both have big conflicts of interest on that front.

I'm seeing claims that progress was made at #COP30, but it really wasn't. Each passing year with no fossil fuel phaseout comes at great opportunity cost as we further burn through the vanishing carbon budget that remains for averting dangerous warming. See my commentary: michaelmann.net/bad-cop/

A study released in the final months of the Biden administration by the Department of Energy found that a very large LNG export terminal would "yield more annual greenhouse gas emissions by itself than 141 of the world's countries each did in 2023."

Our legal team is proud to be part of the coalition suing over approvals of the harmful Williams NESE pipeline. Regulators made it quite clear that NY and NJ governments should not have approved this pipeline!
⚠️ Breaking: Enviro groups sue NY and NJ over NESE pipeline approvals, in three parallel suits before the US Court of Appeals, Second Circuit.

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.

There have been academics, journalists, activists, etc. warning about the problems with LNG export for years, but bad decsions are made when the administration only listens to Big Fossil Fuel execs and lobbyists. Their actions result in more suffering in the US and around the world.
(2/2)

So we have a situation where foreign players are exporting US natural resources for profits which results in Americans paying much higher prices here in the US.

Does everyone facing rising electricity bills know that? I don't think so. Would be great for the media to look into it.
