NEW! #FirstLastAnything ep 35: phenomenal artist Michael Gillette joins me on the music textcast to talk about key purchases, plus: getting his big break with Saint Etienne, housesharing with Aphex Twin, and the lure of The Beatles. And much more. firstlastanything.co.uk/2025/12/07/f...

Insane collection of keyboards at Hatchlands, and quite funny that after going through room after room stuffed with historic pianos and composer portraits you reach 'The Music Room' and go, so hang on, what were all the others...?

You can buy 'The Researcher's First Murder' by John Finnemore directly from him (he's had to pay for a storage unit to keep them all in). Unbound made sure it couldn't sell last Christmas, let's make it a hit for this one: johnfinnemoreshop.com/shop

Whenever I see something about the Unbound fiasco I'm always haunted by the thought that Daniel Postgate, whose Clangers book was published by them, died with the situation unresolved. If anyone knows how to buy his book in such a way that it supports his family, it would be good to know
We should put together a list of books you can buy this Christmas from authors who were robbed and had their careers sabotaged* by Unbound.
(*What makes me forever angry is that it's about so much more than money. You'd think people who read would be better at empathy and understanding.)

Went to a student jazz band concert tonight and they played this; had forgotten what a great piece it is, especially with loads of conga in the percussion section 👌🏻
