Wasn't expecting to see larping mentioned on the second(!) post-summary page of the 270 page VML Future 100 global trend report.

This stat is based on a survey of nearly 14,000 people across 14 countries! How are the 41% of the population who are apparently larpers hiding from us so stealthily??

European larpers, if you left Facebook but haven't deleted your account yet, today is maybe a day to look back in. It's sad over there, but beautiful

I love Lisa's graphic design for The Pokémon Corporation - that name badge does a load of mechanical work too (such as it's ever needed in a Smoke-style game)

Turns out I've been designing larps for over ten years. This was my debut and it's been played in more countries than I've been to!
UNHEROES by @joannajanuary.bsky.social is a 2014 Golden Cobra award winner in the "Most Appealing to Newcomers" category

Play "normal" people who are actually superheroes who lost to a supervillain who erased their reality after they failed to stop them.

So far Bluesky mostly feels like a firehose of (justifiably) outraged politics reshares. Facebook may suck but at least over there my political commentators have the decency to turn their radicalising content into amusing little memes.

Captain Marvel is just Wicked but in a genre the dudebros expect to be all about them. In this essay I will

Trying to do this meme without naming any blokes, and I'm having to dig pretty deep!

N K Jemisin
Naomi Novik
Dianne Wynne Jones
Catherine Fisher
Enid Blyton
Five authors I've read five (or more) books by? Is a hard question, I don't think it's true of very many people.

Joe Abercrombie
Michael Moorcock
Martha Wells
John Scalzi
NK Jemisin maaaaaybe? If not then probably some childhood author like CS Lewis or Enid Blyton
This is a really fun question

Terry Pratchett
Ursula Le Guin
Steven Erikson
Guy Gavriel Kay

The ultimate cheat is to say Louis L'amour (probably closer to 50 than 5, lol)

If plays count, I've read everything by Tom Stoppard and probably Wilde too.

So why don't larps list their larp inspirations as well as their media inspirations. Or "if you liked larp X, you might like this"?

(am I doing it? Is this how you tweet?)
