@joannabiddolph.bsky.social
Conservative councillor for Chiswick Gunnersbury ward (Hounslow borough). Set up the Chiswick Shops Task Force to champion Chiswick's retail, hospitality and service business economy. Promoted by Joanna Biddolph, 433 Chiswick High Road, W4 4AU
Business rates to be abolished by an @Conservatives government. Huge news. Tories understand business and know that the business rates tax is unfair. Businesses need to thrive: taxed on success, not taxed for taxation's sake. #retail #hospitality #shoplocal and support #IndieChiswick

Residents and businesses in #Chiswick need its post office to re-open. So do customers who come from other areas because its services are so extensive. Banking hub, travel money, Drop & Go, emergency passports, car tax, more. Please sign the petition: change.org/p/reopen-chi...?

Setting off to meet residents of Syon & Brentford Lock ward, supporting Mike Dennis our @conservatives.bsky.social candidate in the by-election on 6 March. Residents hugely critical of the damage the Labour government is doing to this country and of the incompetence of @hounslowcouncil.bsky.social.

Setting off for a (rather muddy) walk in Brentford finding out what is needed to manage flooding - this year's brief for the @LBofHounslow scrutiny panel on housing and environment. Fascinating insights from local residents including boat dwellers. @LandscapeThames #Brentford

A third parking story today: The AA warns: “The cost of parking, as well as ease of payment, has an impact on consumers and they will ‘vote with their wheels’ if they deem the price too expensive, or a hassle if they can only pay via an app or by phone'.”: archive.ph/dI359

2/2: With no Sunday market because of #StormDarragh the car park is - unsuprisingly - full. Parking is essential to the success of #retail and #hospitality businesses, in good and bad weather. Please #shoplocal and support #IndieChiswick this #Christmas2024

1/2: Two parking stories in one day. First, the revelation that Rudolph received a fine when parking the sleigh during the #Christmas lights switch-on in #Chiswick - the parking app failed - and Scrooge's rules prevail. www.chiswickw4.com/default.asp?...

Fabulously classily Christmassy as usual from La Trompette on Devonshire Road. I can't walk along without stopping to read the menu, a moment of pleasure in a busy day. #Christmas #Chiswick #hospitality #shoplocal

Fab #Christmas lights switch-on in #Chiswick with an exuberant, fun singalong led by Chiswick School choir. Father Christmas officiated with the help of a reindeer. Thanks to Chiswick Lighting, M&S, Sainsbury, Tesco for mince pies, choc teacakes, chocs and to Wheeler's for a sparkly tree on TGT.

The Ask for Angela scheme is a crucial safety net for anyone who feels vulnerable on a night out. It is shocking to know that in some pubs the posters are meaningless, raising expectations and giving false comfort. Tory cllrs in Hounslow want it to be strengthened: www.chiswickw4.com/default.asp?...
