Conservative councillor for Chiswick Gunnersbury ward (Hounslow borough). Set up the Chiswick Shops Task Force to champion Chiswick's retail, hospitality and service business economy. Promoted by Joanna Biddolph, 433 Chiswick High Road, W4 4AU
Business rates to be abolished by an @Conservatives government. Huge news. Tories understand business and know that the business rates tax is unfair. Businesses need to thrive: taxed on success, not taxed for taxation's sake. #retail #hospitality #shoplocal and support #IndieChiswick

Residents and businesses in #Chiswick need its post office to re-open. So do customers who come from other areas because its services are so extensive. Banking hub, travel money, Drop & Go, emergency passports, car tax, more. Please sign the petition: change.org/p/reopen-chi...?

Super article about the Chiswick Repair Cafe. I've been several times and am a very happy customer. Delicious cakes to eat, and a chance to meet locals, while waiting your turn. So lucky to have such a brilliant initiative in #Chiswick. archive.ph/7DEYb www.telegraph.co.uk/family/life/...

It's not just cost 'it's the hassle that parking causes too: 62% of drivers say the lack of parking availability and parking restrictions are putting them off" and "82% ... believe councils should help to save the high street by offering free parking." www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/a...
Expensive parking is killing our high streets
A study from the AA and a report from Direct Line have both found that parking fees are a key reason why people aren't going shopping on the high street.

Setting off to meet residents of Syon & Brentford Lock ward, supporting Mike Dennis our @conservatives.bsky.social candidate in the by-election on 6 March. Residents hugely critical of the damage the Labour government is doing to this country and of the incompetence of @hounslowcouncil.bsky.social.

LTN and parking fines to go up by £30: It's another attack on small businesses in town centres, too. Shops, cafes, restaurants and service businesses all need parking to be affordable and plentiful otherwise their customers will drive away: www.telegraph.co.uk/money/sadiq-...

Rising energy costs, taxes and a lack of support are pushing the nation's pubs to the brink, with 9,000 at risk of closure this year... and we'll all lose out in the long run.
