In clinical testing, the RSV test had 94% positive agreement with PCR for subjects within 5 days of symptom onset.

Interestingly, the test is licensed for people 6 months and older, so it includes a swab guard to prevent the swab from going deeper than intended.

Unfortunately, no pictures of the actual test cartridge, but the FDA summary of decision shows some diagrams. It has two side-by-side test strips--one with Flu & COVID and the other with RSV.

The BIOFIRE respiratory panel tests for presence of ~22 pathogens at once. Most of the time, rhinovirus is detected more often than COVID. I suspect BIOFIRE is mostly used on inpatients, but I don't know for sure.
