I realize there's a lot going on in the world at the moment, but these strikes have not been getting enough attention. And framing it primarily as an issue of combating drug trafficking means parroting the line of the country currently conducting extrajudicial executions in Caribbean waters.

There are all sorts of problems associated with the way humanitarian and development aid has functioned historically. One can acknowledge this and be critical of it, while also acknowledging that removing that aid entirely will have apocalyptic consequences for the most vulnerable people globally.
