From the principality of wales, home country of the United Kingdom (UK)
Europe tried for centuries to maintain a power balance militarily and in the end finally realised that common economic and social issues could be sensibly achieved through co-operation and resource sharing. That’s why we have the EU and it’s kept the peace in Europe for nearly 80 years.

If Ukraine cedes territory de jure to Russia, it would set a new precedent for similar such seizures in the future either by Russia or another state in the same or different context. I’d imagine Putin’s will be looking at “oppressed” Russian speaking populations in the Baltic states.

Handout central USA. Guess those tariffs aren’t working well.

I don’t have that particular one.

And there was me thinking that nurses were thereto help save lives and not drag the taxpayer funded NHS through Petty tribunals. I have no time for such grandstanding

As a civilian, if the east European nato states were invaded, you’d bet I’d offer to volunteer to fight If it came to it .

This appears to an only a problem with a tiny minority of health care professionals. Nobody is indispensable and a great number enter the profession without having the appropriate caring ethos. perhaps it’s time for a change of career for the nurse in question.

Hope is not completely lost of bringing Asad and his wife to justice in Syria. The present regime has a lot of leverage over Russia in terms of its strategic military location for Putin. In coming years we may see their swift trial and execution very much like was saw for Sadam in Iraq.

I love Christmas but let’s not forget that it is a Christian themed and largely secular occasion used for the sole purpose of supplanting pagan worship. The puritans of Oliver Cromwell had the right idea, but I wouldn’t go so far as to ban it.

The Germans invented the Christmas tree and as far as the religious significance of the holiday, it’s very much the embarrassment of Christendom. It was engineered as loosely based on events in the bible to be mapped over the wicked pagan practices of the solstice in Europe.

Every time I see RFK jr speak, i half expect him to keel over. Very ironic for the political chief of US health policy.

Don’t underestimate the tories. Alan Clarke once characterised it as “an old whore”. There are no red lines for the party when it comes to survival. That’s the reason they still are the most successful political party this country has ever had.

Bloody thatcher. She was a nasty c**t

A bit like Boris Johnson oven ready Brexit deal, which he himself rejected only months before. Farage‘s antisemitic behaviour at school has been publicly known by those of us who keenly follow politics for years. i Refuse to be gas lit by morally bankrupt politicians.

If I can’t afford to buy something outright, I don’t buy it. Credit is a contract with the devil. The only financing a person needs is their ability to put money in a savings account over time.

The NAZI-commumist regime of Putin will say just about anything if it serves their needs.
December 7, 2025 at 4:44 PM
I recently saw an anonymous graffiti here in the UK, it read “kill Putin, save millions of lives”. I have to say that I totally agree with it, but unfortunately what comes after Putin’s isn’t necessarily any better.

The entitlement of Gen Z is appalling. many years ago after leaving uni, I had no choice but temp In fairly low paid jobs till something suitable came up it never occurred to me to take Benefits in the interim.

And nationally it’s carpet baggers like Nadine dories who is so mad at not getting her shoe in peerage, she’s willing to burn down the whole Tory camp.

I remember Farage slamming labour over antisemitism and now, surprise surprise he is a closet antisemite himself. I hate hypocrisy more than anything.

Reminds me of Andropov

For some unknown reason, the political elite seem hell bent on just accepting that Brexit has hurt us al and to make the best of a disadvantageous situation. This will be reversed once all the coffin dodgers have passed.

As head of state his style should be your excellency

It’s a bullshit prize but even as I dislike trump, let him have it. It’s sad that a us president is taking a manufactured award
December 5, 2025 at 7:09 PM
It’s all appalling. The USA and Canada dishonour our national sport by calling it ‘soccer’. Our Mexican friends are the only co hosts who understand the emotional ties to football mean.
