Severe ME is lying in darkness, wondering how you can be this ill without being dead - while the world forgets you exist.

From the outside, it's a body that looks still, a room that's dark and quiet - but underneath, there is a patient dealing with a storm.

(Exact numbers are hard to assess.)

Usually , my first goal is to create Food With Colors.

Today was difficult. Potatoes and leftover egg cake are no colorful combination.

But a little cabbage (and even less chili) did the trick!

I have heard Stewart blame _Labour_ (rather than remainers) for the vote against ratification of the Withdrawal Agreement that Olly Robbins had negotiated for Theresa May's government.

My personal POV is that he is right on that point. Labour whipping the MPs to vote with the ERG damaged us all.

Financial Times has their own input (possibly explaining why the Republican voters follow the cues from Republican leaders):

If Israel can be considered European, why not?

(Considering that Canada here appears _very_ European:)

🤣

I think that I rather identify as 'overseas-Swedish' born and bred in the last and least Swedified part of the country.

Preliminary result from today's elections in the state of Hamburg, when all election districts are counted.

The local Social Democrats are _notably_ more appreciated here. In the national election last week, they were supported by 22% of the voters in Hamburg. Today: 33,5%.

Remarkable!

Right.
And consistency is a key here!

FPTP can (by one or another EU-government, rightly or wrongly) be considered an important factor leading to wobbling.

Never voting Labour again? Fair!
I wouldn't have, either. Their wobbly course is discouraging.

But FPTP leads to problems. After 2002, I would never have voted Labour again. After 2010, I would never have voted LD again. After 2019, I would never have voted for the Tories again.

Who is left?

Meet the new version of Germany.

Almost the same as the old one.

(Kohl has a huge responsibility for this failure.)

The question remains important even if hyperboles, as above, perhaps aren't very helpful.

And I personally suspect other and much deeper roots to "we are tired of experts"-attitudes.

I borrow this from @adybee.bsky.social:

This picture from her kitchen was yesterday posted by Danish PM Fredriksen on her Facebook page. In the picture we see the three Scandinavian prime ministers and the President of Finland.

Russian channels picked it up, more or less jokingly hinting at NATO here planning to attack the motherland.

The Mayor of London has some wise things to say about the alliance of oligarchs and fascists now systematically trying to kill off the heritage from the Age of Enlightenment, of humanism and democracy.

You are welcome to Skåne during the next blizzard.

I have spent many winter months in northern Karelia, but there never experienced anything close to the real thing.

The difference is of course that in Karelia you have to shovel snow _every_ morning. In Skåne only in certain years.
