Unjust society is unsustainable -> democracy is non-negotiable.

Sustainability transition & modeling circular economy @ Finnish Environmental Institute (Syke) as a profession; defence of Finland and democracy as a hobby.
It may seem strange that the owners of the world are this short-sighted, but as we have seen again and again, barely literate sociopaths are extremely overrepresented among the world’s most powerful men.

Cute, but deadly!

(There was an embossing “This is Olli’s bag” inside.

I added “not,” so everything is in order!)

The latest success from the #Circular #Economy front: Olli had ditched his 385 € leather briefcase. It was missing a snap-on button from an internal divider. Local recycling center sold it to me for 13 € & a cobbler installed a new button for 8 €.

Thanks Olli for a new map case!

That’s what happens when the power plant group succeeds in its coup attempt

So the power plant group finally got to design an airplane

But they are too hard to carry away, otherwise they’d be in the British Museum already

Have to say that in my militant #atheist youth I really did not see this coming, but, here we are.

A fun game if you ever visit Helsinki, or some other large Finnish city: see how many civil defence shelter signs you can spot.
November 4, 2025 at 1:16 PM
UNICEF in Finland has a very moving advertising campaign: it shows in real time when there are air raid alarms in #Ukraine.

All the more poignant because of that little blue triangle against orange background: the sign that would guide people to a civil #defence shelter.

BTW "this man" in question is also the subject of an anthology of #Lovecraftian #horror stories, trying to warn the people of #Finland about the unspeakable horrors his presidency could unleash.

There have been two editions so far. Iä! #Cthulhu

This is really funny, because it is well known here that if you so much as set a foot on the border zone, there almost certainly will be an investigation and a fine.

That one can't see the sentinels doesn't mean they aren't watching.

One example here: try to spot all four (4) Border Guards.
November 3, 2025 at 10:55 AM
This is very funny. This guy should try what happens if he sets foot on the monitored border zone in #Finland.

(DO NOT DO THAT. It may *look* unmonitored, but every year dumb tourists are prosecuted and fined for taking a dozen or so steps in it.)

Example picture contains four (4) Border Guards.
