Some more progress on the ongoing reorganization of the collection. Today, Deadpool, Alpha Flight, and other books related to Canada. The box on the right is all Deadpool, and the box on the left is a little over half-full of Deadpool as well as Alpha Flight, a few Captain Canuck, and others.

Finished a re-bag/re-board/reorg of my Justice League collection.

I've been spending time sorting, reorganizing, and doing some re-bagging & re-boarding, today I finished the Legion of Super-Heroes books in my collection. I now have a better idea of the holes in my collection. Now on to my Justice League, Justice Society, Green Lantern, and Deadpool collections.

Every once in a while, it is nice to take a look at the ol' 90s retirement fund. $Ching-Ching$...

A new Royal Flush Gang and their benefactor Hector Hammond try to destroy the Justice League of America in this 3-part story from 1982's Justice League of America Vol 1 issues 203-205. Story by Gerry Conway with art by Don Heck & Romeo Tanghal, covers by George Perez.

In 1982, at 8 or 9, I bought The Best of DC Blue Ribbon 31. In it 4 stories, one each for Black Canary, Elongated Man, Red Tornado, and Zatanna, joining the #JusticeLeagueofAmerica. I no longer have the digest, but I do have 3 of the 4 JLA Books, #75, #105, and #106. Only missing #161 for Zatanna

Nine year old me, loved the "Beasts" storyline from Justice League of America 221-223. From the opening arena combat, Hawkman being impaled, to the final fight on the small island off the coast of #Newfoundland. My one beef was, the whole story I thought they were building Reena for JLA membership.

Before 1985s Crisis on Infinite Earths this DC Comics Presents Annual #1 from 1982 laid an important thread as the Supermen from Earth 1 & 2 team up on Earth 3 against both of their Luthors and Ultraman. This book introduced Earth 3s Alex Luthor & Lois Lane, the parents of COIE's Alexander Luthor.

One Punch! Justice League No 5, Cover date September 1987 Giffen and DeMatteis give us Batman versus Guy and after finding Guy knocked out on the floor Black Canary nearly breaks down... because she missed it.

I miss the Bwah-Ha-Ha! League.

My favourite team is the #LegionOfSuperHeroes, and that included The Legion of Substitute Heroes. From saving the Legion in secret, to their 1st parade, I liked the Subs. Then I read these, DC Comics Presents 59, and The Legion of Substitute Heroes Special 1, and then. . . I really liked the Subs.

My favourite team, and my favourite Legion character's first appearance. Dawnstar joins "Superboy and the #LegionOfSuperHeroes" cover date Apr 77. I think Dawnstar became my favourite Legionnaire after her part in the first issues of Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1985.

#Marvel Comics Alpha Flight Vol 1 #2, cover date September 1983, on sale 14 June 1983. The origin story for Marrina, Newfoundland and Labrador's member of Alpha Flight. Growing up, Canada didn't get a ton of mentions in US comics with the exception of Marvel, and for DC, Canada barely existed.

I loved All-Star Squadron in the 80's, the concept of exploring Earth-2 during WWII, and how they fleshed out DC's Golden Age characters. On top of that, with covers by Joe Kubert, Rich Buckler, and Jerry Ordway the All-Star Squadron had some of the best covers going at the time.

One of my newest adds to my personal collection, from Rittenhouse Star Trek Discovery Season 4 Trading Cards Newfoundland & Labrador actor Shaun Doyle who played one of the antagonists. This is the first non-hockey Newfoundland & Labrador auto in my collection.

Rest in Peace Alex Faulkner, a Newfoundland & Labrador Legend. I hope the passing of Alex gets mentioned on a few NHL broadcasts tonight. The 1st NL player in the NHL with the Leafs, Alex would go on to play for the Red wings in the 63 Cup final, scoring the GWG in Detroit's only win in the series.

Just finished X-Men 12 by Jed MacKay, & Netho Diaz, X-Men are joined by Alpha Flight, taking on intergalactic bounty hunters after Cyclops. Marrina doesn't think very highly of the bounty hunters, or she is giving a lot of credit to the after hours drunks & skeets on George St. In St. John's.

Appearance wise, for sure. She is still a Princess of Orando, & her powers are mostly the same with Illusion Casting as her main ability. When she first appears in the 1996 reboot Legion she is very different from the image in your post, She is changed on a mission against her will.

I've had this for 12 years before taking it out for pics last night. 2011-12 #UpperDeck The Cup Base Black Parallel Uncut Sheet a 1-of-1. It was my 2nd uncut sheet redemption pull, the 3rd sheet in my collection, & the only one I have that has no personal collection players on it. #NHL #HockeyCards

Any #Marvel fans out there with some love for an #UncutSheet? Finally pulled out of the packaging last night, 2023 Fleer Ultra #Wolverine Silver Foil Uncut Sheet. Love this thing, my 1st non-hockey uncut sheet. PC characters #Deadpool & #AlphaFlight, especially Marrina. Also, the toploader is cool!

New addition to the personal collection, and my first Dawnstar card (outside of sketches there are only like 4 cards total). Hoping Upper Deck’s new DC license gets some Dawnstar cards going.

Especially the Substitutes! The Subs & Superman against Ambush Bug in DC Comics Presents, and the Substitutes Special are two of the best comics of the 80's. Pure Giffen greatness.

Marrina, representing Newfoundland & Labrador on Canada's Superhero team Alpha Flight. A member of an ancient alien race the Plodex, & sent to Earth to conquer. Cards are from Marvel Fleer Ultra Wolverine. These cards are from my personal collection. Created by John Byrne for Alpha Flight #1 1983.
