Every time you see that the government is trying to raise our military spending to 5% of GDP, think about the fact that our total elementary and secondary school spending is 3.9% of GDP.

Eight months ago, Katie Wilson declared her intention to run and all the conventional powers-that-be said she didn't stand a chance of winning.

Remember that we don't always know what is possible.
Wilson now leads in the Seattle mayoral race by 91 votes. Prior to today, Harrell had been leading by 4,300 votes, but this latest vote batch netted Wilson 4,391 votes.

Mamdani has won more votes than the entire population of any of the 5 smallest states.

@stevengodfrey.bsky.social you seemed a little exasperated (for lack of better word from me) on the latest Phantom Island intro. but, as a casual CFB fan, appreciated you doing the run down one last time. had no clue. Holly made a comment on Shutdown’s show, but, again, no context for me. so, thanks

the USA built a system of higher education so good that smart/rich people from across the world came here, spending billions to learn here, subsidizing education for Americans while spending money to live in our cities and towns. our government arbitrarily decided we should stop doing that
The US could see a 30-40% decline in new international student enrollment, resulting in nearly $7 billion in lost revenue and more than 60,000 fewer American jobs. https://www.nafsa.org/fall-2025-international-student-enrollment-outlook-and-economic-impact
