This is the most energetic and energizing series of events on the floor of a legislative body that I have seen in decades, maybe ever, when the youngest MP in New Zealand’s parliament rose to perform Māori Haka, shredding a right-wing bill that considers tribal rights “reverse racism”.
Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clark, New Zealand’s youngest MP, passionately rises to address Parliament by singing the Haka, holding a paper in one hand. Her expression is fierce and determined. Seated beside her, a woman in traditional clothing glances upward at Hana with a slightly bemused expression on her face. Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clark stands in the New Zealand Parliament chamber, her eyes fierce and wide, mouth open in a full throated vocalization, almost shouting. A paper for which I created all the figures was just published in Nature, and I was given 2nd author - closest I’ve ever gotten to the front of the author list. Especially proud of this one illustrating a complex algorithm.

We just deployed a significant update to CIViC (civicdb.org) which improves its complicated forms for adding/revising Evidence, Molecular Profiles etc. And now I have a little bit of time to perfect the UX on some of these complex fields, like this one with a built-in MP expression editor:
