I read the Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. Powerful stuff. Such command of language. I had less than zero interest in Greek myths, and this changed my mind completely #booksky

4.5 hour layover after a Helsinki - LAX flight ain’t no joke. Proper ready for bed, this one

Watched Sinners on the flight. That's a damn movie

As the plane ascended the clouds and I got my first sunset since Ramses passed, I've just been crying. I miss you so much, boy.

I'll admit I'm far from the best I've been emotionally, but Mission Impossible The FInal Reckoning was b a d. I mean I did cry in the end and the last stunt was cool, but that wasn't anywhere near the level of the previous movies

On my way to Silicon Valley. I value all the face time I get with my mostly California based team. My job requires it, because prompt and impactful business runs on relationships, which run on trust, which requires intimacy to form.

Saw Interview With The Vampire (1994) at the theater tonight. That had a lot more impact than I had been giving it credit for in my memory. Also: young people seeing a young Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise for the first time was wonderful, such an impression

When I lost my first dog as a teenager, it was very different to now losing my dog as a middle aged man. I find that my whole identity is in flux as I've built my home, all of my routines, and my work all around the dog. It's a shock.

Can’t sleep, so I finished Long Live Evil by Sarah Rees Brennan. That was a delight of a portal story. Strangely light while dealing with heavy themes and set dressing. #booksky @sarahreesbrennan.bsky.social

I got to introduce The Crow (1994) to a friend tonight and she loved it. Best times

I was not ready for what grief felt like, after we put our dog to sleep yesterday. Empty. Stressed so that I can’t eat or sleep by something I can’t grasp. Woke up in the middle of the night, feeling like I’m about to vomit. I’m grateful I’m not going through this alone.

Our neighborhood kids were greeted by a classic this Halloween. One teen appreciated it out loud. One said we’re cool. I win the night

I played through Rez last night. Best Friday night

Watched House of Dynamite. Why have we built a world like this

Mikki knows games and the people making games well.
A lot of the business failures of the games industry are really rooted in this desire to create a product that dominates the market. The recent Amazon thing really highlights that: they wanted to create a product that outperformed Steam, but they didn't understand Steam or what the audience wanted.

I've started a spreadsheet about all the #ttrpg I've run over the years. Frustratingly my notes are (very) unreliable from pre-2020, but it's fascinating to see how many people I've had at my table. Current count is up to 33, based on reliable notes only.

We are a playing a thirteen player, three group game of 500 YEAR OLD VAMPIRE: www.roleplayletters.com/2025/10/27/f... It's such a unique project, I can't believe we're doing it #ttrpg

We played The Skeletons #ttrpg and I wrote about the experience: www.roleplayletters.com/2025/10/27/s... It's an interesting experience we're keen to revisit and alter!

We played The Skeletons by @jasonmorningstar.bsky.social The longest and deepest post game discussion followed. Inspired to play more and tweak the game to our tastes (mostly: a lot longer rest phases) #ttrpg

I am embarrassingly into the original Halo (didn’t much care for others, save Reach) and I know I’ll play this remake but I am very skeptical it’ll feel anything like the original. They’re going to mess with the sparseness, it’ll be too busy, I expect.
