I was in Honduras for a while years back and knew a couple of people who had family members 'disappeared'. They were later working in the same office with people that worked with the groups that did it. There isn't always a resolution to these things.

I think he's probably used to being able to throw that out to most groups he talks to and have it make him seem credible that it didn't occur to him that everyone in that room has done that and so much more that it's actually pretty insignificant to them.
