I used to be "with it". But then the changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't "it" and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

It'll happen to you. 🫵
For the last couple of years, my Dad & I have put up a train-themed tree in our local church's Christmas Tree Festival. And as it's the RWS 80th anniversary, we've pulled out all the stops this year.

Huge props to Longleat - this year's Festival of Light was easily the best one yet. Highly recommend it if you're in the area, ESPECIALLY if (like me) you're a fan of Wallace & Gromit.

So... I've finally played Deltarune. Just finished Chapter 4 and... it hit me hard.

Susie isn't the only one who wishes things would stay the same... much like in real life, I hope it's all gonna end OK...

I was ambivalent about this game for too long. It's absolutely amazing.

Picked up an old Hornby catalogue during my travels and I don't recall seeing this prototype of their D261 before... actually, I honestly like it more than the final one.

Same goes for 'Arry & Bert's faces here, even if they are just the ERTL ones (placeholders, perhaps?)...

Went off to Severn Valley yesterday for their Autumn Gala.

So, who else enjoys revisiting the old Tales from the Other Railway audio productions? I was listening to one in particular the other day and couldn't stop laughing at the idea I had.

And if you've never heard of TFTOR, I hope you find this just as hilarious out-of-context.

I think it's safe to say that Didcot is definitely one of my happy places and yesterdays visit was no exception.

Great gala and that SECR 'O' Class is gorgeous.

I think it's safe to say that the reason why the TVS Main Line has three running tracks is because:

A. They used the two illustrations from TTRE as inspiration
B. Three tracks means you can have more trains in one shot (even if they didn't always do this)

Cold Take
If it had been up to me, I wouldn't have adapted Thomas, Percy & the Coal. As much as it has great visuals and score like the rest of Series 2, it is rather underwhelming as is the original story (despite the latter having more interesting incidents).

Sharing something a little different today and, having spent a long time tweaking it, it's something I'm very proud of - a story! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it.

I really ought to post about my layout more often - it recently gained a name, "Grosvenor Road".

Sign made by The Pattern Shop - highly recommend them

A Thread

TL:DR: I'm worried about YouTube's latest announcements as I am about lots of things in life. But this'll either blow over or evolve into something we can (hopefully) put up with.

I still believe things will work out one day. And if they don't? Well, que sera, sera.

Went somewhere a bit different today - the Eastleigh Lakeside Miniature Railway.

Further proof that you should never overlook a little engine.

Question of the Day
So, why was it called "Tidmouth HAULT"? Was it the show makers trying to merge Tidmouth and Haultraugh, the next station up the line?

Or is it because, according to Google (grain of salt then), 'Hault' is how 'Halt' (as in small station) was originally spelt?

Question of the Day
So, why in the Edward's RWS illustrations do the engines have route discs during the day?

Was it a preference of Gunvor & Peter's or done just to be different? Strikes me odd that you'd see this practice outside the Southern Railway/Region...

I have acquired another new friend from @GoldieRailz.

It's Mavis and, no joke, she is my new favourite Bachmann Thomas model. The fact she has all four lamp irons makes up for the moulded handrails. But not the eyebrows - I replaced those straight away.

"I'm dreadfully grieved Sir; but know nothing."

Found an old Gronk kit in a Charity Shop a while back with no bits missing, bar the cement which would've probably dried up anyway. Was a synch to put together and as for a livery? Yes, I'm afraid I am that predictable.

If you'd asked me a year ago what my favourite railway was, I honestly couldn't pick just one - I love so many.

After today though, I now know for certain; it's the Moors Valley Railway. This place is unlike anything else and the engines? No other word for it, I love them all.

Off to Didcot once again today, this time to see none-other than Flying Scotsman reunited with his former rival Pendennis Castle.

Still slowly working my way through the Studio Ghibli library. Now I can cross two more off.

First, one of the lesser-known ones; The Cat Returns. Had heard good things about it, so gave it a chance and... I loved it. Lots of wonder, laughs, reminded me of Pokémon & Sailor Moon.

Here's wishing a very happy 80th anniversary to The Railway Series!

I honestly don't know what I can say that hasn't been said already, but Wilbert was right when he made "Nil Unquam Simile" the NWR's motto - there really is nothing quite like it.

Started the week off with one Spring Steam Gala... may as well finish it off with another one.

Huge props to the Watercress Line for another splendid day - fantastic loco line-up and came away once again with a bargain Capsule Plarail bundle.

Spent more-or-less the whole of yesterday at the Severn Valley for their Spring Gala - oh boy, have I missed this.

Also found a friendly face in the Engine House.

To think it's been well over a year since LEGO announced they were making Animal Crossing sets - where does the time go?

Having recently acquired the 3 latest sets, here's all the characters they've done so far. Just managed to squeeze them all into one shot. Worth it though. ☺️
