More than 25% of species in the IUCN Red List are trees. Trees deserve more focus and visibility in conservation areas.

Our new paper on the plantation history of Himachal Pradesh - and more broadly about transformation and stasis in forest restoration policy - is out. I'll write more about it later, but for now, here's the link (its open access) @_PushpendraRana nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...
Planting and replanting: Continuity and change over four decades of forest restoration in Himachal Pradesh, India
India has a long history of planting trees to restore ecosystem services providing an opportunity to evaluate long-term ecosystem restoration processes. We show that these programs have shifted over ...

We plan to do the population genetics of an endangered tree species in India's Western Ghats biodiversity hotspot. We plan to develop SSR markers from already available sequence data. This step requires expertise in bioinformatics, and we are looking for collaborations. @cgsg.bsky.social
