Visiting the server room at @it4innovations.bsky.social in Ostrava is always enjoyable. This year there's also new hardware: a quantum computer VLQ 🐺 and next generation Barbora cluster. Looking forward to some great science they'll enable.

The 2000th observation was an orchid from platanthera genus growing in the beautiful Rauris valley in Austria. The spider hanging on the orchid became the next entry.

Evening multitasking: reading Khanh's latest manuscript, watching my older daughter's long and high jump competition and plane spotting arrivals to PRG 🙂.

Today is also World Wetlands Day so a good time to check what's happening on our own wet meadow. Spring Snowflakes (Leucojum vernum, bledule), the first spring flowers, are already sprouting there. In about a month there should be hundreds of them blossoming.

I found some hair ices today in an old beech forest close to Machov, CZ, the nicest one is on the picture. I wasn't exactly sure on what it was growing but it was a piece of wood indeed. #broumovsko
