If the state of the world has you down, at least there’s the start of the baseball season, where hope springs eternal and… wait—what?
There’s a lot to unpack here but even if all of the claims in this article about the Pirates extremely high operating costs are accurate then the proposed solution (lobby MLB aggressively for a salary cap) won’t solve the problem and in fact might make things even worse financially for the Pirates

Jackie Robinson, born 1919 in GA, broke MLB’s color barrier in 1947 with the Dodgers. He faced WWII segregation and a court-martial (acquitted), then excelled in baseball despite racism—6 time All-Star, 1955 champ, 1947 Rookie of the Year. His number 42 is retired. A legend ignored by the WH today.
