From the Golden Age of comic strips, Geo McManus's Bringinging Up Father. A strip about Irish Immigrants winning the sweepstakes and becoming nouveau-riche. Amazing! Thanks to my daughter Sophie for getting this for me.

Got to see Frankenstein before it comes to Netflix November 7th. Loved seeing Guillermo Del Toro's gorgeous visuals on the big screen.

Just to give you an idea of the kind of robe NOT to wear while inking...

Late night inking wearing a robe with big sleeves. THAT would be a mistake... 😑

Good eye! It takes inspiration from Herb Trimpe BIG time. The behind the scene link I posted talks all about it. Notice the name on the bag in the last panel of that Sunday strip

November 3rd is Godzilla Day! The anniversary of Godzilla's first appearance in Japanese theaters on November 3, 1954. Here's my take on Godzilla from the 8/17/2025 Sally Forth comic strip. More behind the scenes on my Patreon at patreon.com/posts/sally-forth-8-17-134268074

Spider-Man was torn off of the top of my Little Free Library. A little "trick" on Halloween I assume. Luckily this was just a print and not an original painting like the last one. Still disappointing. I think that does it for me for putting any art out there. 🫤

October 29th was the birthday of two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist, Bill Mauldin.
He's probably best known for his WWII cartoons featuring Willie and Joe, two war-weary infantrymen. More info and examples of his work on my Patreon at patreon.com/posts/105558077

AI tech companies and investors are pushing big time that AI be used for everything. Not because it needs to be, but because of big profits no matter the cost to the rest of us.

I like to reference places in the Twin Cities when drawing Sally Forth. For the 10/27/2025 it’s Armatage Elementary School, where my kids all went.

Sketchbook drawing of Keke Palmer. Experimenting with Sakura Gelly Roll pens for touch-ups. Not bad, but have to play with it to get it nice and opaque. My go-to for white-out are the Presto correction pens.
