Just about the most important summary of the state of the USA today.
The only person to have universal rights in this country is a straight, white, able-bodied, Christian man.

We should've made a bigger national crisis of someone breaking into Nancy Pelosi's home & trying to kill her husband. But then, we should've made a bigger national crisis about hundreds of someones breaking into the Capitol & trying to steal an election. But then, we should've done lots of things.

9 out of 10 agencies targeted by DOGE for layoffs are liberal-leaning. Every single proposed GOP budget increase goes to conservative agencies.

They're not cutting fat—they're performing ideological surgery with a chainsaw.

PRO PUBLICA: Of the 238 men sent to an El Salvador mega prison, only 6 had prior violent crime convictions.

0 were on the gang member list.
130 had no criminal history.
32 had minor offenses.

All 238 thought they were being sent back to Venezuela. www.instagram.com/p/DKcjM7FPhz...

Not just student data. DOJ apparently requested any email or text where faculty or staff discussed the Trump DEI EOs -- something that would target lots of pure political speech.

The Bambergers hired with "no regard whatever to accidents of race, creed, or sex."

For a while they tried working out of Princeton University, but the uni wouldn't let them hire Black people. So they left and built a new building out in the suburbs.

So, woke DEI stuff that fascists still hate!

Russia isn’t winning. They’re burning through men, tanks older than your dad, and begging North Korea for troops. That’s not strength—it’s desperation. We didn’t let them win the Cold War, and we won’t let them fake a win now.

A New Mexico judge and his wife have also been arrested, for allegedly hiding a TdA gang member in their home.

Given recent history, it’s probably best to take the “hiding” and “gang member” allegations with a fistful of salt.

IF YOU ARE BEING DETAINED:

1. Shut the fuck up.

2. Say these words, VERBATIM: "I want you to provide me a lawyer. I will not say anything else until I have had a chance to consult with a lawyer."

3. Seriously, shut up.
1. Ask: "Am I being detained? Am I free to leave?" If they refuse to answer that you are detained, keep walking.

If they try to physically impede you, go the other way. If they grab you, get loud and ask people to videotape it and call the police.
I (& others) would be grateful for expert advice on:

1. Best way to respond/intercede when people claiming to be LEOs refuse to identify themselves or produce warrants

2. How to proactively ensure that encounters are documented, given the (apparent) attacks on security systems described here.

It’s not turning into a police state, of course it isn’t.
It's a high bar, but this from @radleybalko.bsky.social might be one of the most fucked up things I've read in the new Trump era. For context, this TX lawyer had just had an informal conversation with a family caught up in ICE raids.

Incredible piece about Arturo Suárez, who I’ve been thinking about a lot. He was a struggling artist trying to make a career for himself while his country collapsed around him. Like millions of Venezuelans, he migrated.

ICE arrested him in North Carolina while he was trying to film a music video.
