Interesting results presented by Elizabeth Krantz from @joshhillmd.bsky.social team @fredhutch.bsky.social @astct.bsky.social Tandem2025. Overall antibody levels are low in CAR T recipients. Re-vaccination is important. The Boonya lab collaborated on the B cell analysis.

Highlights from Justine Ross’ presentation from @cityofhope.bsky.social on RSV infections at Tandem2025 @astct.bsky.social 1) most respiratory viral infections occur during months 1-3 post-CAR T-cell therapy; 2) we need studies on RSV mAbs and vaccines in transplant and cell therapy recipients

Engaging talk by Jen Adair @fredhutch.bsky.social Tandem2025 @astct.bsky.social on efforts to make cell and gene therapy available in low and middle income countries. Academic centers need to step up. Great to see my friend @cgtgaithersburg.bsky.social in the Global Gene Therapy Initiative

Important new guidelines from @astct.bsky.social in the pipeline on diagnosis and management of parainfluenza and metapneumovirus respiratory infections after stem cell transplant or CAR T-cell therapy. Presented by Marjorie Batista. We need new vaccines and treatments for these common viruses.

Non-science post: this okazu pan from Umami Kushi in Rainier Beach, Seattle is heaven. And Johnny behind the counter saw how much I was enjoying them that he showed me a random act of kindness by giving me a free bulgogi pan. Kindness never tasted so delish. Nom nom nom 🤤 umamikushi.com
