I highly recommend the book "Poverty, by America."
thinking of one of abraham lincoln's great quotes this morning:

"As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master. This expresses my idea of democracy. Whatever differs from this, to the extent of the difference, is no democracy."

The press corps lack courage. They could hold this man accountable if the mainstream media reported the truth about him. However, driven by profit, they choose not to act.
Jim Acosta: I think the AP should consider whether or not to sue the administration… and the rest of the press corps should start seriously considering whether it’s worth sending everyone into the Oval Office, onto Air Force One, or into the briefing room.

Go, Canada! 🇨🇦 Most of his voters were likely not drunk, though it might reflect their mindset. However, they still celebrated with whiskey. We strongly dislike felon Trump. Please keep him out of your country too.
Canadian MP Charlie Angus: So here’s how it’s going to go down—this is going to be very rough. But the big wake-up call is for our American friends.

For example, Kentucky—the number one purchaser of Kentucky spirits in the world is Canada, and all our provinces have just pulled it off the shelves.

The House is powerless, but the Senate still holds some influence. Mitch McConnell crafted the strategy for a relentless minority. They should use it and battle fiercely, like Republican Senators determined to strip away their constituents’ health care. That’s the kind of energy I want to see.
Yes. While there are absolutely things Democrats can and must do to slow, obstruct, etc, GOP hold both House and Senate majorities, severely limiting our options.

Johnson and Thune are handing over the own keys and relinquishing their own power. Even for the cynics this should be a shock.
We all like to yell at the Democrats, but it’s really Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune who are letting Elon Musk and his faceless goon squad make a mockery of their power as leaders of a coequal branch without uttering a peep or lifting a finger.

Lists are incredibly useful! A few days ago, I noticed a lot of trolls, so I began compiling a list. Luckily, most of them were already listed before I needed to add more.
I'll reiterate that I don't think the various trolls/bots/chuds here understand how comprehensive the Bluesky block function is here. It's so good that it actually encourages "don't engage, just block": nothing's left over after the block happens so there's no point engaging at all. Just brilliant.

Welcome to the club of seasoned gentlemen! It's not too bad if you overlook the knee pain, the stubborn belly fat, and the Grim Reaper tapping on your shoulder.
The #1 song in America is Bruno Mars with Lady Gaga singing a duet that I have literally never heard while Lola Young's "Messy" (the only song that exists in the whole world) is #97.

REAL INTENSE CANCER DREAM LAST NIGHT. Because I was out of town my doctors sent me a scalpel in the mail and told me to cut it out myself.

As my son said to me when he was four, “why does my brain show me things I don’t want to see?”

I'm really excited to dive into this!
If you have Hulu, search "Carrie Underwood Reflection" and dislike 👎🏻 it

Don't watch it. Just rate it a thumbs down

No, absolutely not.
Every Democratic Representative should be rushing to support Representative Salazar, a Fla Republican

It's the right thing to do and it Floods The Zone with confusion. And shows Dems doing the right thing in a red district. @aoc.bsky.social @repjasmine.bsky.social

Sparks the imagination
Patagonia truly is wilderness untamed! Furious winds transform the turquoise waters of lago Pehoe into a raging sea, blowing crashing waves side ways & literally lifting the water off the surface!
