Also, as a community, if we can create a space where everyone can upload their images where MicroSAM fails at the beginning, together with their manually fixed masks, I believe MicroSAM could become a really off-the-shelf tool for the entire community in no time.

Analyzing LSFM images: LSFM is still one of our top priority in image analysis method development thanks to the support from BMBF. Some new cool tools are coming, including one great collaboration with Dr. Peng at Helmholtz AI.

(7) Microscopy Data Portal: thanks to the open source and FAIR effort in the bioimaging community, we built two data portals (alpha version) in 2024, one for cell migration (cellmigration.isas.de) and one for lightsheet images (lsfm.isas.de). More data are coming in 2025, including annotations. (8)

this direction will be delivered in 2025. (5) Bioimage Compression: Our preliminary study on microscopy image compression with AI is accepted to Biological Imaging and more works to appear soon. We find that microscopy image compression is much more than saving storage, but facilitating researches.
