radical take here but i think that running out of money shouldnt put you in absolute misery actually.

My following feed is for _me_. It's how I keep in touch with things _I_ am interested in. If I follow you, it's because I am interested in what you have to say and want to see more of it. If I unfollow, it's because I don't. I know there are parasocial implications but genuinely it's that simple.
let them go back then. I "include everyone" by replying to people who interact with my posts when I can. No one is owed a follow, especially people obsessed with follower counts.
