I'm not sure if it's my favorite, but it's the one I always chuck at people to check out.

The Fall (2006)

It's interesting, because I normally letter last for my own stuff and for others. But right now I'm thumbnailing a MASSIVE GN idea based on pre-existing text, so I've been adding said text in my sketches, which has helped immensely.
I can see it helping the artist too, placement and context wise.

I mean, if the millionaire ran a massive distance, deposited the cheque and then promptly dropped dead, that would be more in spirit of a Marathon run...

They're cute and fun, but they're a LOT of work and are expensive when sick. And they need a lot of company. In my experience, I actually don't think they should be pets.

I love Miyazaki. But I can guarantee he's never had a budgie shit on him from that ending scene alone.

Yes, I own budgies...
(And yes, if they could, they would feast on us. My fingers can attest)

And finally, book 4, Thorgal's wife Aaricia is presumed dead. Book 5 is about saving her from death's grasp on her from the beyond. Book 6 is the epic rescue of her.

WHY WOULD YOU OMIT THE FIRST PART OF THAT STORY, PUBLISH THE MIDDLE, THEN JUMP TO AFTER ITS CONCLUSION??

I will never NOT be angry about that weird numbering choice. It was designed to infuriate me AND the other readers.
You know how artists' styles develop over time? It's jarring to see it go back and forth like some kind of seesaw comic.

So far, I have one novel planned without chapters, but my brain needs some organization.
But I get what you're saying.

A few years back, I did a 1 like = 1 comic I adore. I ought to do that again.

Storm is nice, but not completely my thing. Art is nice though.
I was always more of an Elfquest kid.

Which also explains a lot of things about myself down the line.

WALL-E is sandwiched somewhere in between, right?

I dunno, read that first issue. It was weird fantasy from the very start, and issue 2 immediately added sci fi to it. Thorgal has always gone wherever the story aught to go, with IMHO only one really bad issue in the initial 30+ year run.

Oh that's too damn cute!

I will hand out free usb's and print copies on the street while reading the book aloud through a megaphone before I'd sign up for a clanker made audiobook.

The BBC made an excellent one back in the day for the radio, with Ian Holm as Frodo and Bill Nighy as Sam.
