I just voted for myself for the first time to help lead the city and community I grew up in. I’ve waited over ten years for this day. I’m at peace with whatever happens because we’ll be right back at it in May.

I’ve been waiting for Zohran to explain how his ideas would actually benefit the city beyond just giving things away. He nailed it here. Every mayor should have a clear and understandable plan to generate revenue. If they don’t, their only plan is to keep taxing everyone to death.

I spent the evening with Andrew Yang and the team that helped pass the new Child Tax Credit extension. It provides up to $2,200 per child and will increase automatically to match inflation. Up to $1,700 per child is refundable, meaning families can receive that even if they owe no taxes.

After centuries of racism and exploitation, the irony is that Africa now has the highest fertility rates in the world. What makes this even more entertaining is that on most world maps, including this one, Africa’s true size is distorted and the continent is far larger than depicted.

Nothing is more fulfilling than protecting residents from displacement and building a future for our youth who grew up in tough circumstances like I did. We’re working to make Newark one of the most desirable cities in the world.
