The same tree as the previous post, but with most of the leaves gone, revealing its uneven shape and long branches with many turns and bends.

First blush of color on maples in the East Woods at The Morton Arboretum 🌱🌳

Native goldenrod on a local trail and "Little Lemon" variety in my garden.🌱

Corydalis. Planted a few 30 feet away across the lawn, and they volunteered here. Prompted me to plant the hostas! (Krossa Regal) 🌱
Corydalis plants surround taller hostas. The corydalis have fine-textured foliage with small, yellow, tubular flowers. The Krossa Regal hostas in the background are much taller, with a vase-like form and broad green leaves with a bit of blue tint.

One of my favorite locals, a massive bur oak at The Morton Arboretum. 🌳 #thicktrunktuesday

Good example of the all-important root hairs of plants that grow in air pockets of soil. This pot of pansies sat atop a pot-shaped hole from a holiday decoration.🌱
